Several years ago I found an anonymous man's entire art portfolio in a thrift store. The portfolio was created during his art school years in the 60s (based on dates on some of the drawings). There were hundreds of sketches in all states of completion. The paper is so old it's fragile. Much of the paper is newsprint. I decided to photograph all of the pieces (more than 350). There are no names (other than those of the models) on any of the pieces of work. I couldn't bear to see any artistic work be lost to time or trash so I bought the entire lot - great buy too - $200. Now that they are photographed, I am remixing the sketches with my own photographs and art - I'm going to call this the Duet Series. The models names are sketched on the bottom (in some cases). This model's name was Matthew.
